The "Torri Palombare" have an important and suggestive history in the development of rural centres in Umbria. In the middle age these sites represented the first forms of architecture outside of the walls of the cities and Borghi.

At the beginning of the XIII C., the surroundings of fortified cities such as Narni, Spoleto, Montefalco, Bevagna didn't have any sparse insediaments: the country side was unsafe and in most cases not habitable.

Only in the Middle Age with the Torre Palombara, built along the connecting routes between castles and villages, we have the first stable form of building in the Umbria countryside.

But it is only in the XVII C. that these structures were transformed for the use of the nobility as their country estates. In this new cultural climate, the Torre Palombara became a part of the Villa.

This is why today great care is given to recuperate and restore these building, heritage of our culture and of this land.
